DISCUSSION: residual debt and interest after completion of the
LAND AT NEW building project were reviewed. The discussion
LIBRARY SITE centered on the possibility of reaching an agreement with the City of Bozeman to cover the balance of funds needed in return for transfer of control from the Library to the City of land preserved as open space plus an area of land on the west side of the library property in order to facilitate the future redevelopment of property along the east side of Wallace. Concern was raised regarding the need to have assurance that the Library will still have the amount of parking required in the event of land currently designated as parking being developed for other uses. Discussion ensued regarding how to transfer control without incurring the risk of possible change in use of the
open space and preserving land for the possible future expansion of the Library and parking areas. Concern was also raised about how to ensure that any future development along Wallace would not adversely affect the Library. It was agreed to draft a proposed agreement with the City that would cover the Library’s needs and concerns.
PUBLIC COMMENT There was none.
ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 4:30 p.m. The next regular meeting will be Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at 4:00 p.m. in the Director’s Office.
